Academic Writing Workshops on MLA and APA Citation

This month, the ULINK Library organized academic citation workshops in collaboration with the IB Department and SABIS, aiming to help students improve their academic writing skills.

The first workshop, held in collaboration with the IB Department, focused on MLA citation.

This session gave students a clear explanation of MLA format, including in-text citation rules and the proper layout for the bibliography page.

By taking part in this workshop, students gained a better understanding of MLA guidelines and learned how to apply them accurately in their academic writing.

The second set of workshops, organized with SABIS, focused on APA citation. These classes emphasized the practical use of APA style, such as correctly citing books, journal articles, and online sources.

Students also learned how to format reference lists properly and understood the importance of avoiding academic plagiarism.

With hands-on exercises, students became more confident in using APA citation techniques, improving the precision and professionalism of their writing.

Through citation workshops, the ULINK Library continues to support students in developing strong academic writing skills and promoting a sense of academic integrity.

These efforts are designed to lay a strong foundation for students’ future research and studies.

It helped them develop fundamental skills in organizing and maintaining library materials.
