Shane is an experienced teacher and school leader, with over twenty years of management and classroom experience. He started his career in Australia, before moving to the United Kingdom to take on a variety of roles within the sector, including Head of Year and Head of Department. Since joining Ulink Shane is responsible for Teaching and Learning within the school. He is now also Head of Centre for CAIE and the Director of the school’s Academic Centre.

Shane believes strongly in an academically rigorous education that develops student knowledge and skills. He encourages a culture within the school which believes there are not ‘local methods’ or ‘western methods’ to teaching, but simply good teaching. He is also passionate about ensuring that all students are supported in becoming independent learners, and that teachers are central to developing those skills.

Shane believes that a great school is dependent on great teachers. He works alongside colleagues to support and develop Ulink teachers to make sure they are empowered to provide for our students. He is very happy to provide guidance and serve their interests and regards this as his core responsibility.
